About OSX-AVR

Welcome to OSX-AVR.

OSX-AVR was a project I started in 2005 to bring together the open source tool chain for the AVR micro-controller family into one easy to install package (for Apple computers). This was an attempt to provide an OS X version of the windows orientated WinAVR project (winavr.sf.net). It was also a reaction to how slow the community continues to be to integrate new devices into the most common software repositories for OSX in particular.

Last year objective development put together a similar project called AvrMacPack. I believe this product resolves the issues that I caused me to create osx-avr, and in many areas (especially in the area of documentation) it is much better than the product I was supporting.

I commend it to you.
